Washington, D.C. has the opportunity to lead the nation in a way no other jurisdiction can. As Mayor, Dr. Myrtle P. Alexander will champion the establishment of the National Concealed Carry Curriculum & Certification Program (NCCC) — a federally recognized, competency‑based training standard headquartered right here in the District.
This initiative positions D.C. as the originator of a national firearm safety curriculum, enabling lawful gun owners across all 50 states and 5 U.S. territories to receive a single, uniform certification recognized nationwide.
